Anna Maria Taragna

Anna Maria Taragna is associate professor of Byzantine literature at the University of Turin. After her PhD, she has been a post-doctoral fellow at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris and she taught Byzantine history, as assistant professor, at the University of Florence. Her research focuses on Byzantine historiography and poetry of 6th and 7th century, as well as the metaphrastic rewriting of Byzantine military treatises and hagiographic texts. Since 2006, she is co-director of the journal Medioevo greco. Rivista di storia e filologia bizantina.
