Simonetta Nicolini holds a PhD in Art History. She has taught in high schools and held university courses in the History of Illumination and Art Education at the Universities of Venice and Bologna. She has collaborated with museums and libraries on the cataloguing of both ancient and contemporary artefacts. Her research focuses on the history of manuscript illumination in Emilia-Romagna and Rimini during the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, with particular attention to its critical reception. Among her publications is Il gusto della miniatura in Italia. Un percorso tra letteratura artistica e altre fonti (XIV-XVIII) (2021).
