Alessandro Giovanardi

Alessandro Giovanardi is a lecturer in Sacred Art, Iconography, and Iconology at the Istituto Superiore di Scienze Religiose “Alberto Marvelli” in Rimini and San Marino-Montefeltro. He is the author of the monographs John Lindsay Opie. Estetica simbolica ed esperienza del sacro (2011) and Pensare il confine. Vladimiro Zabughin tra Oriente e Occidente (2021). He edited an anthology of texts by John Lindsay Opie, Nel mondo delle icone. Dall’India a Bisanzio (third revised and corrected reprint, 2024), and collaborated on the editorial project Gli antichi alla corte dei Malatesta (2018). He has published numerous articles and essays on fourteenth-century Rimini painting and on the artistic and philosophical culture of the Malatesta court.
