Gianmario Cattaneo is post-doctoral researcher at the University of Eastern Piedmont in Vercelli. He obtained a PhD in Renaissance studies from the University of Florence and KU Leuven, and has been a post-doctoral fellow at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Neo-Latin Studies (Innsbruck), the Warburg Institute (London), and the University of Turin. He has published several contributions on Late-Antique Christian authors (in particular Origen and Severus of Antioch) and on Greek and Latin Renaissance literature, especially on Bessarion and his entourage.
